The blind date :P

And then finally I tried making my own video :P

My friend Farsam Zaffar and Arslan Ali came over to my place to shoot the video. The idea was that Arslan , who was a rather cool dude gets all excited about a blind date with a girl whom he's contact with on the phone but has never seen her. Farsam, the girl is getting ready and is all set assuming that her dreams would come true. Both of them are madly in love until Arslan looks at her for the first time....

Its was a good experience making a video with such crazy amazing pals. We ended up laughing on each and every bit of it. Even though it wasn't as good as I wanted it to be but the acting part was good!!

Iron Man.

“From Marvel Studios and paramount Pictures comes Iron man, an action packed take on the tale of wealthy philanthropist-Tony Stark (Robert Downy Jr.) who develops and invulnerable robotic snit to who fights the throes of evil. In addition to being filthy rich, billionaire industrialist, Tony stark is also a genius inventor.  The movie is directed by Jon Fayre Au. It is written by Mark Fergus, H auk Ostby, Art Marcum and Mathew Holloway. “– Rotten Tomatoes.

The movie starts with an extreme wide shot of a dry barren land with mountains at the back. It is day time hence day light has been used to shoot the scene. A few cars can be seen from far away, crossing. The scene changes at once. There was no background music, only the sounds of wind blowing and the cars going could be heard, Juts as we are watching the camera is set on the road, in front of the big bullet proof armored trucks. There is dust everywhere due to the pace being like a dessert. The place shown is Kunar Province, Afghanistan. Just as the full shot of the cars is shown, background music is played. Good background music was being played and was entertaining. As for me as a part of the audience it grabbed my attention more towards the movie. Gunmen from the armored trucks were alert on their positions coming out from the convertible roofs of the trucks. There were rocks and bushes everywhere. The gunmen were wearing US military uniforms along with camouflage helmets.
The camera is the placed at one side of the road and we could see the three trucks cross by from the lower left side of the screen with a full shot. Another wide shot is captured and travel along the barren bushes. A stranger along with the two animals of his (goats) was seen passing by as the trucks travelled.
It seemed that the movies were being shot from a helicopter as the camera movements were quiet jerky. For example, a shot of the tire with the truck, zooming in was shown just when the trucks were on their way, without editing or stopping.
Another shot takes place with a close up of a hand carry music player inside the truck. The truck from the inside was too dirty. It had four passenger seats and a lot of visible wires and buttons inside. Two men and a woman were there in their camouflage uniforms whereas the fourth person (ton) was in a black suit. A half shot of one of the soldiers is shown who was sitting in the front. The front mirror was cracked which showed that the trucks were used in the wars or in dangerous places where weapons were used and firing was done. Again, mountains could be shown . The background music was still there, still very entertaining. Another shot takes place with an extreme close up of a hand holding a glass with a beverage and ice cubes in it. The camera tilts upwards and the soldier sitting at the backseat could be seen. First he was blur but then clear. He seemed curious from his expressions. A half shot of Tony is shown. He wore a dark blue suit with light blue stripes on it, a sky blue dress shirt underneath with a dark blue tie on it. The tie had light blue pattern made on it. He was again holding the glass of drink . He also wore brown sun glases. He had brown hair, a mustache and a small beard too. The camera then shows Tonys profile and a full view of the soldier sitting next to him in the half shot . The background music is still there being played in the music player inside the truck. There were rough camera movements which showed that the road was bumpy and the drive wasn’t smooth. A half shot of Tony is shown as he speaks and another close up of the soldier besides him is shown as he listens to him with a smile. Again Tony’s close up is shown when he asks the soldier besides him whether he could talk or not. Humor is created as he calls the soldier “forest” due to him wearing a camouflage uniform. Half shots and close ups with the characters profile are shown in this shot. Just as the lady in the front speaks Tony realizes that she was a woman and also tries to flirt with her. An eyelevel half shot is captured as the lady speaks. Everything was going smooth when one of the soldiers asks tony if whether he could take a picture with him and Just when he hands over the camera to the soldier in the front to take the picture, the scenario changes.  The background music slows down. The volume decreases. Just as he clicks the button to take the picture a bomb blasts, exploding the truck in front of the one they were traveling in with a noise. A full wide shot is taken with the truck on fire, mountains at the back and smoke in the air. The soldier jumps out of the truck as they were being attacked by the terrorists. A close up of Tony is shown with fearful expressions on his face. Quick inter cutting is shown with a lot of movement showing that the situation was intense. A soldier being shot outside the car was shown while Tony hides inside the truck as per the soldier’s instructions. Quickly, Tony jumps out from the truck once every soldier is dead. The sound of gun fire can be heard as he runs. A lot of smoke was there. Tony runs and the camera moves along with him while he goes and hides behind a few big rocks. He tries using his satellite phone but a missile is thrown nearby him and while he stares at the missile, a close-up of it is shown which states “STARK INDUSTRIES” which was funny as he was the owner of it!! Just as he stands up to run for his life, it explodes, throwing him in the air while he lands on the ground, injured.  A half shot along with a close up of tony is shown as he lies on the ground, dirt all over him and slowly blood wets his shirt just as he tries to come to his senses. He opens his buttons and we could see him wearing a black bullet proof jacket underneath while the camera zooms out. Slow background noise sort of music is played while the shot ends while fading out. Another scene starts as the scene fades in. Light from behind a jute is shown just when the shot changes. And a piece of jute sack is removed from Tony’s face while he tries to come to senses. He has blood on his face, slow background spooky music is there. One could see terrorists (gunmen) behind Tony; in fact, standing all over besides him. One of them is speaking in Urdu saying that the west thinks of them (east) as wild bests. The camera then zooms out and a full shot is captured with tony with his hands tied back sitting on a chair and seven to eight terrorists with their faces covered wearing caps are shown. The scene ends and at once the name of the move “Iron Man” appears with black background and golden font with sound like if a nail is being hammered.
The whole situation changes as the scene changes after it. A huge hall is shown with a wide shot. The place is said to be Vegas, USA. As the movie reverses time 36 hours back before that day which is shown in the begging of the movie.  There are round tables with people formally dressed and sitting around them. There is dark inside and a very few yellow and while lights are used to shot the scene. Two huge screens are set on the left and right sides of the hall with the stage in the middle. It seemed like it was an award function. Lively music is being played and a person is constantly Tony to the gathering with his slide show of photos is screened. The camera moves slowly from left to right showing the audience looking at the screened. The camera moves slowly from left to right showing the audience looking at the screen. The slideshow starts from age 4 when he started his first circuit board. A black and white picture of his teenage is shown to describe that time with old models of televisions in the picture. Another picture showed his colored picture at the age of 6 he had his own engine. At 17, he is shown in a newspaper and furthermore the backstory of the character is established till 21 when Tony returns to carry his father’s business and it says that he created better weapons that protected America from around the globe. An extreme wide shot of the hall is again shown with the spot light on the speaker who was on the stage. A half shot is shown as he calls Mr. Tony Stark to receive his award but the funny part is that Tony wasn’t even present in the award ceremony.
The character of Tony establishes as a billionaire as he dresses up quiet smartly and formally. He was drinking inside the truck. He was very friendly and funny as he keeps on kidding with the soldier in the truck too. He flirts with the lady soldier which was again funny. He was amazed when the missile said “ Stark Industries” as it was his own company. He seemed careless as he wasn’t present at his award taking ceremony. He wasn’t much scared while he was crossing Afghanistan just before he got attacked. H was very rick and also had a satellite cell phone.
The movie was interesting as it starts. It gives a good view of Tony’s character and the title of the movie is interesting too. It’s a PG13 film but I would recommend it to people of all ages as the acting is good, good background music is played, the story line is excellent and very good actors are casted for it !!

Batman Begins - Official Trailer

Batman Begins

The movie names "Batman Begins" is based on the famous DC comics of Batman the superhero. Directed by Christopher Nolan, the movie establishes itself in a unique way. It was rated 9 out of 10 at the box office. It is a WB (Warner Bros) production and Batman's role is played by the famous actor Christopher Bale as Bruce Wayne in the movie.

The movie starts with an overall intense scene. There are bats in the sky. So many that one cannot count. Their noise is kind of scary and the staring of the movie gives us a hint that the movie would have a link with the animal (Bat). Bat is the icon used when talking about semiotics. One clearly gets the hint that the movie is on Batman as soon as the bats appear making a Bat shape in the sky. Basically Bruce was scared of bats. There was no background music. One could only hear loud noises made by the bats icon for a spam of a few seconds and scattered again.

The second scene was as intense as the first one. One couldn’t tell if the second scene has started as good editing has been done and the camera moved quickly along with the bushes and the leaves. The background music suddenly starts making the situation intense. The camera moves so fast that even the flowers of the plants seemed blur. It gave a good impression and the sound at the back enhanced the scene. Another good camera technique is used when from behind the bushes the camera suddenly moves a little up and a small girl appears (Rachel) running. She is carrying something and she enters the greenhouse. This girl Rachel is wearing a grey hood and pink trousers. Her hair nicely tied in two pony tails. While without a pause a small boy (Bruce) appears running after her. Both the kids had light brown hair. Bruce was wearing a grey shirt with a purple checked shirt on it. He also wore a wrist watch.

Rachel’s pink ponytails made her look very girly and Bruce’s wrist watch along with his front opened purple checked shirt represented his male gender. Good camera movements along Rachel and Bruce are shown. The camera was at the back of Bruce while he was running and then at his format when he enters the green house looking for Rachel. There is a half shot shown along with the camera movement as Bruce walks across the greenhouse. The greenhouse had green doors and a lot of plans and pots in it. There were many flowers of red, yellow, pink and white color. The greenhouse had wooden tables in it on which the pots were placed. Rachel was hiding under the table. This point showed that the girl’s gender was shown as a weak gender as she had to hide from the boy because he could snatch away what she had in her hand.

Moving on, as the camera was placed on the opposite direction now. One could see the other side of the greenhouse (towards its exit). The camera moves along Bruce as he bends down to his knees and talks to Rachel where she was hiding. A close up of Bruce is shown as he bends down. As soon as he bends down a shot is taken in with a full view of both the kids on the floor. Just as the dialogue between the two starts a shot reverse shot is captured with Rachel saying “finders keepers and I found it” which showed that she did not Bruce to take that rock away from her. Close up of Bruce’s face is shown as she opens them and the rock is there in her hands. The intense background music is still there all this time which creates tension amongst the audience about what next would happen. The camera is then again taking a half shot as Bruce snatches the stone from Rachel’s hands and runs. (An extreme close up was again shown while Bruce snatched the stone from Rachel’s hands). Bruce then runs. (An extreme close up of the scene is shown while Bruce snatches the rock from Rachel’s hands.) The camera moves along Bruce as he runs away from Rachel after saying “ finders keepers” just to tease her. Bruce runs and the camera is at the back and it shows where Bruce is running towards. He goes and hides behind some rocks. The camera then shows a half shot again, showing Rachel running after him. The camera moves a little right and then a little left which represented that she was trying to find Bruce. A close up of Bruce’s face is shown as he hides from Rachel behind the rocks. Bruce then at once falls down, discovering that there was a well beneath the rocks he was standing on. The camera is then at the bottom of the well. (Note that the well contained no water). Worms’ eye view has been captured as he falls down the well. A full view of Rachel has been shown as she turns which shows that she realizes the Bruce fell down. The same background music is being played. Rachel’s voice echoes’ as the camera shows that she was peeking in the well and calls Bruce’s name. An extreme wide shot of the big wide building is shown with Rachel running and calling for help, telling her mom that Bruce fell down the well. While Bruce is in the well, he stares at a dark passage which he discovers in the well. There is fear on his face and suddenly a school of bats appear, flying toward him. And soon they were all over him.

Another scene starts with an extreme close up of Bruce, all grown up as a man now. He now had a mustache and a beard. A close up of his face with sunlight on his face (the right side) he wakes up and was sweating. This meant that the entire bat thing was a scary dream. Bruce is actually scared of the animal bat. Just when he wakes up the movie twists. He was in prison. A wide shot is shown in which slowly zooms in towards two people (Bruce and another prisoner) having a conversation inside jail. The prison did not have any light because it was supposed to be dark inside. Plus, outside the whole scene had day light and it was shot open air. A lot of prisoners are shown. A half shot is shown showing Bruce’s profile as he takes his breakfast. A fat huge prisoner throws away Bruce’s plate and they both start fighting just after a shot reverse shot had been shown.  The fight continues and is captured in continuous half shots and also shot reverse shots. There is no background music. There is bad camera movement shown as they fight. There is too much of camera movement along the people as they are fighting which was disturbing for me as I watched the scene. But, then again, maybe the director wanted it to be this way!
Again another half shot is shown as the force appears and they drag Bruce away. Humor is created when one of the gunmen shouts “protection” and Bruce says “ I don’t need protection”. The gunman replies “protection for them” (as in protection for the other prisoners from Bruce)!

Bruce is then thrown inside a prison again. There, a person appears and a lot of half shots and shot reverse shots are captured as the conversation takes place between the two people. Slow background music is played. It’s all dark inside the prison again. Only sunlight from the prison’s window is utilized to shoot the scene. Bruce is all dirty, full of dirt all over him, whereas, the man who appeared was soberly dressed up. He was wearing a grey suit, a brown tie and a blue dress shirt underneath. He tried to convince Bruce to work for him. He tells Bruce that he (Bruce) would be released the very next day.

Bruce’s character is a very interesting character shown in the movie. For example, when he’s young he is always passionate about stuff and also stubborn as he snatches away the stone from Rachel’s hand in the very beginning. He fought with the prisoners showed that he couldn’t stand anyone annoying him. He did not have patience. He was brave as he was fighting so many other prisoners at a time and also said “I don’t need protection” to the gunman. This showed that he wasn’t afraid of anything. He wasn’t afraid of being killed as he said “only if they kill me before breakfast” in a sarcastic tone. Also, there was a girl shown in the begging of the story too which showed that yes, there will be a story related to her. This showed that Bruce will have a link with her too.

The audience that has been targeted is not limited. The movie can be recommended for children, teenagers and older people adults too. It is because it has its charm of having a superhero in it which would attract children to watch it. Teenagers and adults would watch it too because of the good language, camera movements, capturing of good scenes and good acting being done. It was overall a good movie. WORTH WATCHING!!

Blackadder's courtroom scene.

The name of the video clip is “Blackadder’s courtroom scene”. It consisted of six minutes and thirteen seconds in which Blackadder (Rowan Atkinson) is on trial for disobeying orders and shooting the generals pigeon.

It was an overall good comedy but had lame bits in it too. Rowa Atkinson, who is very popular for his role as Mr. Bean in his movies, plays, serials and cartoons is dressed in the military uniform and has a mustache too. The mustache represented his gender and made him look funny at the same time.

As the clip begins an overall view of the courtroom has been shown. The room had a pure royal British theme with dull golden and metallic colored props and the set consisted of the same theme too.(royal/military) with big rugs on the wall. British English accent has been used.

The camera zooms in when Blackadder’s lawyer, namely George, who was a rather silly yet fumy person; enters the room and starts presenting his case to the clerk of the court which I found very funny as he was trying to be extra efficient. George the lawyer was wearing a black cloak on top of his military uniform. The second person against Blackadder enters the court room. He too was in his uniform. Good video editing has been done. For examples, when the lawyer sits, the person against Blackadder enters the room. A side poses of Blackadder and the person in his opposition, namely Captain Darling, is shown in a half shot. Funny dialogues like “having enormous fun” in the court have been used. The lightning overall used is the mood light. A full view of the room is again captured when the judge (General) enters the room whose pigeon was killed by Blackadder. The judge himself was very funny and emotional at the same time as he called Blackadder a “pigeon murderer” in a very dramatic way. He seemed emotional too as he described the pigeon as a “lovely, innocent pigeon”. His main concern was the pigeon’s murder and he did not take the thing seriously that Blackadder had committed any other serious crimes. This was mainly to create humor and also show how important the pigeon was and how attached the General was to his pigeon. He wears a black cap which showed that he would soon give a death sentence and this created even more of humor to the clip as the intensity of the crime wasn’t worth giving a death sentence. There was no background music. The clip was kept simple as far as the sound was concerned. We could only hear loud laughter after every funny part to create more humor. It actually worked and made the audience laugh.
The first witness was captain Darling from the opposition which wasn’t very expected, was lame yet funny too. Good camera movements are shown when the camera moves along with George when he comes to sit as Blackadder’s batman called Private Bull rick enters the room.  The funny part was when the batman refuses to accept his very own name in the court!! The batman wore rough clothes and had an overall poor image. He wore dirty rough clothes, glasses, a cap and carried a bag pack. He had a very short role to play.

A wide shot is shown when George reads out his final words from a piece of paper. A close up of the judge is shown and a short glance of George and Blackadder along with two men at the back is also shown. Adding more to humor there was a part when Captain Darling calls the general to present his case as his witness. .The camera zooms in and there’s a good half shot captured with both the characters in it. After this, a full shot of the scene/room is shown with a profile of Blackadder and the general along with Captain Darling standing opposite to him. The camera moves along the general as he goes and sits with the camera glued to him as he announces his sentence while wearing the same black cap.

In the last few seconds good camera editing has been done with a full wide shot of Blackadder as he stands and within a second a half shot is shown and the clip ends right there yet with another funny note as the general tells Blackadder that he will be hanged to death at dawn and whether if there was anything Blackadder wanted to say. Blackadder replies to it by just asking for an alarm clock (so that he could wake up at time)!!
